Female Super League Welcomes Chelsi King as Manager of Operations

[Edmonton, AB] - The Female Super League (FSL) is proud to announce the appointment of Chelsi King as Manager of Operations.

As the league continues to grow across Western Canada, King will play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations, league logistics, and ongoing program development. Her addition comes at an important time for the FSL as it continues to build structure and elevate the overall experience for athletes, coaches, and families.

King brings a strong and diverse background across sport, education, and community programming. Her experience spans everything from policy and strategic planning to governance and large-scale event delivery, including her role as Senior Manager for the Wood Buffalo 2022 Arctic Winter Games. She has also contributed at the board level as Vice Chair of the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo, giving her a well-rounded perspective on both operations and leadership.

Academically, King holds a Master of Education from the University of Calgary and a Bachelor of Education, with Distinction, from the University of Alberta, along with a Certificate of Administration from Keyano College. Her work has been published in the Canadian Journal of New Scholars in Education, and she has been recognized with the 2025 Distinguished Alumni Award from Keyano College and the YMM Top 50 Under 50 Award, along with a nomination for the Edwin Parr Award for Excellence in Education.

“Chelsi brings a level of organization, professionalism, and structure that aligns with exactly what we’re building as a league,” said Hayley Runnalls, Commissioner of the FSL. “She understands both the operational and people side of sport, and I’m confident she’s going to make a strong impact.”

Tyrel Spitzer, VP of Silent Ice Sports and Entertainment, echoed that sentiment: “The growth of the Female Super League has been incredible, and with that momentum comes a responsibility to evolve. Adding Chelsi to our leadership group allows us to stay organized, efficient, and focused on what matters most, creating elite opportunities for our athletes. With Hayley and Chelsi in key leadership roles, we’ve never been more confident in our ability to execute the vision.”

King will be a key part of the FSL’s continued growth as the league works to raise the standard of female hockey. Welcome to the team, Chelsi!
