12U Vancouver Aeros
Isla Jeffcoat is primed for the playoffs.
The Aeros sniper helped Vancouver get a share of top spot with a four-goal game against Langley to wrap up the season. She finished the season with 30 goals and 12 assists, and her 30 goals were third on the Aeros. It was the ninth multi-goal game for Jeffcoat this campaign.
Vancouver doubled up Langley 6-3 to tie the Jr. Ooks with 58 points. The Aeros top two finish allows them to avoid the play-ins and wait for round one.
14U Jr. Rustlers
With a pair of victories on the weekend, the Rustlers tied for third place with the Bow Valley Nationals.
The Rustlers also took down the Manitoba Mavericks to finish the season on a five-game winning streak. They end the season at 21-8-3 and plus 66 in goal differential.
Harper Clark led the Rustlers in scoring and was 12th in the league with 38 points in 32 games, while Parker Fritz was third in the league with a minuscule goals against average of 1.62.
The Jr. Rustlers finished in the top four and avoided the play-ins, getting a bye to the first round and more preparation time this weekend.
16U Tri-City Express HC
Julia Rukavina revved up the engine this weekend, picking up points in all four games as the Express went 2-2 to wrap up the regular season.
The Express defeated the Jr. Ooks and Angels Pro Hockey to finish in a tie for seventh place with Aurora HC.
Rukavina led the Express in scoring this year, averaging a point per game over 31 games. She had eight multi-point games this season and finished on a five-game point streak.
Tri-City will now meet rival Langley in a best-of-three series at Delta Planet Ice Arena.
16U Angels Pro Hockey
The weekend wasn’t great until the final day when the Angels fought hard for a 4-1 win over the Langley Leafs.
Allison Boulter and Julie Fricker had a pair of assists each for the Angels, while four different goal scorers helped the Angels to victory.
Karina Wall did the rest, stopping 20 of 21 Langley shots on goal to nail down the win, her fifth of the season.
The Angels will now take on Aurora HC in a best-of-three game series starting Friday, with all three games being played at the Morinville Ice Gardens.
