The Female Super League (FSL) made its much-anticipated debut this past weekend, kicking off a new era for youth female hockey. The season opener on Friday, September 13, 2024, began with a ceremonial puck drop ahead of the 12U Jr. Ooks' matchup against the Angels Pro Hockey team. Steven Goertzen, President of Silent Ice Sports and Entertainment, and Female Super League Commissioner Hayley Runnalls had the honor of dropping the puck, officially launching the league’s historic first season.
Excitement buzzed throughout the Silent Ice-Hesco Arena as the Jr. Ooks and Angels battled in the inaugural FSL game, showcasing the talent and passion that will define this new league. The Ooks secured victory, setting the tone for an action-packed weekend that featured 13 exciting games across both the 12U and 14U divisions.
