The Calgary Glaciers stunned the home crowd early, capitalizing on special teams to build a surprising lead. Just over five minutes into a penalty-filled first period, Hana Chalupova (#29) broke the ice with a shorthanded goal, assisted by Peyton Krueger (#27). The Glaciers' penalty kill struck again in the final minute of the period, with Lyla Elian (#17) finding the net, assisted by Abigail Mills (#14) and Chalupova, to take a 2-0 lead into the intermission despite being outshot 21-12. The Jr. Ooks' offense was buzzing but couldn't solve Glaciers goalie Alexandra Seminuk (#33), who was perfect through the first twenty minutes.
The Jr. Ooks began their comeback in the second period, finally breaking through Seminuk's wall. Madden Critchley (#88) got the home team on the board with an even-strength goal, assisted by Olivia Billsten (#91) and Lauren McDiarmid (#10), cutting the deficit to 2-1. The physical, penalty-laden nature of the game continued, with both teams taking numerous minors, but the Ooks carried the momentum into the third. On a power play early in the final frame, Ella Charest (#90) tied the game, with assists from Abby Millar (#8) and Kylie Bonnett (#24). Charest then became the hero, netting the game-winner at even strength midway through the period, again set up by the duo of Millar and Bonnett.
The Jr. Ooks sealed the 4-2 victory with an empty-net goal from Elliya Klaus (#9) in the final seconds, assisted by Billsten and Sophie Edwards (#29). The story of the game was a tale of two goalie performances and a relentless Ooks attack. While Alexandra Seminuk was brilliant for Calgary, making 44 saves on 47 shots faced, Emily Baluk (#33) earned the win for the Ooks. The Jr. Ooks' offensive pressure was overwhelming, firing 45 total shots to Calgary's 29, and their persistence paid off with four unanswered goals to secure a hard-fought comeback victory on home ice.
