Bow Valley Nationals Dominate in Shutout Victory Over Phantoms

From the opening puck drop, the Bow Valley Nationals established a relentless offensive presence that the Phantoms Female Hockey squad simply could not contain. The Nationals fired 18 shots in the first period alone, setting the tone for a game they would control from start to finish. The breakthrough came midway through the first when Leah Cann, assisted by Jordyn Dumont, netted the game-winner. The momentum only grew as Khloe Parks and Danica Mikan added goals before the period ended, with Mikan's marker coming in the final minute. The Phantoms, struggling to generate offense, found themselves in penalty trouble early with minors for hooking and tripping, which only deepened their defensive woes.

The second period saw more of the same, with the Nationals continuing their shot barrage and Klaire Hilliard extending the lead. The Phantoms' frustration was evident as they took a series of penalties, including a boarding call on Everleigh Knock and a tripping minor on Ruby Hurd that led to a rare penalty shot opportunity, though it failed to change the score. The Nationals' defensive structure, led by their goaltender Laura Jelínková, was impenetrable. Jelínková faced a total of 12 shots and turned away every one, securing a shutout victory. Any hope of a Phantoms comeback was extinguished in the third period as the Nationals poured it on. Just eight seconds after Mikan's third goal, Jordyn Dumont found the back of the net, assisted again by Bigoraj, to cap off an 8-0 rout.
