Phantoms Edge Jr. Rustlers in Defensive Battle

The Phantoms Female Hockey team secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over the Jr. Rustlers in a game defined by defensive resilience and a late-game winner. Despite being outshot 35-23, the Phantoms capitalized on their opportunities and relied on a stellar performance in net. The game opened with a power-play strike from the Phantoms' Natalie Evans, assisted by Ruby Hurd and Bryelle Denis, just 33 seconds after the Rustlers' Aubrey Waddell took an early penalty. The Rustlers responded with pressure, finally breaking through in the final minute of the first period when Bentley Baier scored, assisted by Alanna Schwartz and Raya Babey, to send the teams to the intermission tied.

While the Rustlers' Allie Hillis faced only 23 shots, the Phantoms made their limited chances count.
