The Calgary Glaciers came out flying on home ice, building a two-goal lead in a chaotic first period, but the relentless Jr. Rustlers chipped away and ultimately stole a 4-3 overtime victory. The opening frame was a wild affair, featuring a flurry of penalties and goals. The Rustlers struck first, as Hayze Bensmiller (#16) found the net just 14 seconds in, assisted by Addison Boulianne (#8) and Harper Clark (#77). The Glaciers responded with authority. Abigail Mills (#14) tied the game, and then Hayley Durtnall (#18) and Peyton Krueger (#27) scored to give Calgary a 3-1 lead. However, the period ended with major drama. A late penalty gave the Rustlers a power play, and Harper Clark (#77) scored with just six seconds left, cutting the deficit to 3-2. The period was marred by a match penalty and game misconduct to Calgary's Jewels Kerr (#3), leaving the Glaciers shorthanded for the remainder of the contest.
Despite being down a key player, the Glaciers relied heavily on goaltender Alexandra Seminuk (#33), who faced a barrage of shots. The Rustlers, led by a dominant performance from Addison Boulianne who tallied four assists, controlled the play. They tied the game in the second period on another power-play goal, this time from Hayze Bensmiller (#16) for her second of the night. The Rustlers' goaltending tandem was pivotal; after Allie Hillis (#70) started, Parker Fritz (#33) entered the game and was perfect, stopping all 15 shots she faced to keep her team in it. The third period saw no scoring but plenty of tension, as the Rustlers outshot the Glaciers 16-7 but couldn't solve Seminuk, sending the game to overtime.
In the extra frame, the Rustlers' pressure finally paid off. Just over two minutes in, Maya Macnab (#11) became the hero, firing home the game-winning goal. The assists went to Harper Clark (#77), who finished with a goal and two helpers, and the playmaker Addison Boulianne (#8), who capped a stellar four-assist night. The Rustlers' comeback was fueled by a massive 49-30 shot advantage and a lethal power play, overcoming an early deficit and a spirited effort from the short-handed Glaciers.
