FSL Showcase Storylines January 7th

14U Manitoba Mavericks

Brewing Up a Shutout

Jordan Brewer was perfect to open the weekend with a 17-save shutout, the first for a Mavs goaltender.

Brewer was locked in from the start with 10 stops in the opening period, before the offence got going in the 5-0 win. Five different goal scorers lit the lamp for Manitoba.

The Mavs picked up win number four on the season on Sunday, slipping past Langley Leafs Minor 4-3, ripping 42 shots on net.

14U Jr. Rustlers

Dominant Perfection

It wasn’t just a perfect 4-0 weekend for the Jr. Rustlers; it was a dominating one where they gave up just four goals in four games, while averaging four goals per game offensively.

Payton and Addison Boulianne led the way offensively while Parker Fritz made 17 saves for the shutout on Friday. That was followed up with three more wins thanks to Addison Boulianne’s seven goals, with hattrick in the weekend finale.

The Jr. Rustlers sit first in the division with a three-point lead.

16U Langley Leafs

Top Shelf Player

Tallulah Player did all her damage in the first period to help Langley to a 2-0 weekend.

Player scored a pair of goals, including one on the power play, as Langley edged Aurora HC 2-1 for a second straight win. Player had an assist in their 5-2 win over Aurora HC on Saturday. She had one goal previously.

Langley is tied for 2nd and a point out of first place.
