FSL Showcase Storylines Jan 27
12U Vancouver Aeros
Dynamic Defending
They were nearly perfect this weekend as the Aeros were beaten just once in three games.
Vancouver shut out Cowichan Valley twice and skated past Langley to open the weekend.
The Aeros sit first overall in the division, two points ahead of the Jr. Ooks. They are 7-1 in 2026 and have given up more than three goals just once in those eight games.
On the season, Vancouver is averaging less than two goals against per game.
14U Victoria Hockey Academy
Heating Up
They might be seventh overall, but they are third among B.C clubs, and thanks to a 2-1 weekend, Victoria should have plenty of confidence.
They are now 3-2 in their last five games and learning to handle the ups and downs of a season as the playoffs loom.
They shutout Vancouver and downed Langley Leafs Minor before falling to Langley Leafs Major on Sunday.
In the shutout, Lauren Coppinger stood on her head, making 54 saves, including 23 in the second period alone.
What a star! Coppinger will be massive come the postseason.
16U Bow Valley Nationals
Top Team
The top team played a gruelling 4 games in two days schedule and came out extending their run to 8-2 in their past 10.
They shut out the Jr. Ooks before defeating Aurora on Friday. Saturday, it was another double dip where they took on Angels Pro Hockey and the Jr. Ooks once again.
The Nats outscored their opponents 28-4 this past weekend and have a league high 130 goals in 24 games.
Sawyer Gillings leads the league in scoring with 47 points, while Reese McKay and Amelia Witwer sit third and sixth, respectively.
